Out There is a typographic print publication I designed for the 2020 ISTD awards. The topic I chose was migration and I approached this by looking at County Lines drug trafficking in the UK. I decided to design the book in a way that reflected the varying perspectives of those involved - from the gangs, to the runners, to the police, to the drug users. The more I researched I found that each person had an entirely different view on the situation, why it was happening and what needed to be done to solve it. I felt that each voice needed to be represented to give the reader the opportunity to form their own opinion. Each chapter of the book represents a different groups perspective and each perspective is printed a different way up. This means that the reader has to physically change their perspective in order to read it.
